Apple Inc

Many people wonder how Apple does so well and what marketing tactics do they use? This blog will explain how they have gained a competitive advantage and built up such a great reputation not only across the UK but globally.

Almost every Apple product has become successful and in high demand. One aspect that stands out compared to competitors is the design of their products. Apple products are well known for being aesthetically pleasing and easy to use. When a business, like Apple, remains successful across many years, it is due to a combination of the marketing mix booming in all areas.

What is the marketing mix?

The marketing mix, also known as the four p’s which are product, place, promotion and price, demonstrate all the important factors that should be considered in making a product or service. It is important, especially for companies such as Apple, which is on a wide scale, to successfully implement each factor well thought out by experts when creating a business idea. As Neil Borden,an advertising professional said, “the concept of the marketing mix demonstrates the ways that companies could use advertising tactics to engage their consumers”.

The physiological marketing of Apple Inc

The Iphone is expensive and many consumers know when buying an Iphone, it comes with a price. Is this a psychological tactic from Apple? Many would say yes, due to consumers becoming influenced by the price of a product, “price is one of the indicators that something might be high quality”. The high price of all electronics from Apple drives consumers to buy these products, as they get a sense of achievement when buying a luxury good, and Apple products are marketed well as they are continuously in high demand. Apple products also engage with the consumers emotions as the products are extremely appealing to not only one target market of one specific demographic, but to various people of different ages and proffesions. Many psychological experts agree that buying an Apple product is not only for yourself, as subconsciously the consumers are showing others who they are and ‘self signaling’ who they want others to think they are, when making a purchase at Apple.
